It's the moment you've all been waiting for: The news has officially hit the Web!
We are pleased to be the world's first news website, thanks to Vivitech's legendary VT team. We have been in development since 1915, when Vivitech announced their Entangled Web project. We are sure you know plenty about Vivitech already, but for those who don't know, Vivitech is a company that was founded in Northston. They were originally a weapons manufacturer for the United States, but in private the company has worked on truly incredible feats. They are the ones behind the first personal supercomputer, the first wireless headphone, the first spacecraft, the first international communication code, and now the first news website. We are honored and humbled that Vivitech chose us as their first news website instead of more renowned news sites like The New York Herald, the Sun, or even the Associated Press.
Since this is our first Online Website, we'd like to take a moment to let our lovely readers know that, no, we are not doing away with paper newspapers. The Northston Tribune will always have paper newspapers at hand, a penny a piece like always. We merely want to carve a place into the history books and help the people of Northston keep track of their favorite articles! Sherry Pie, our editor, already has plans to start an online archive of our existing newspapers so that you can read our articles from all the way back on 1892.
Now, it wouldn't be a Northston Tribune article without the input of some locals, wouldn't it? We interviewed Vivitech's CEO, Dewey Day-Dallas, for his input on the experience of bringing our website to life.
PEARSTON: Thank you for giving us your time, Mr. Dallas.
DALLAS: Why, no problem! It's always a pleasure to support local businesses, you know?
PEARSTON: Well, no better place to start but with a bit of intro, for whoever may not know you. Who are you? Tell me a little about yourself.
DALLAS: Well, I'm Dewey Day-Dallas, CEO and Founder of Vivitech! I am a Northston native-Fletchings for the win, haha! And, well...I guess I'm a bit of a dreamer, you know!
PEARSTON: Indeed you are, Mr. Dallas. Now, what inspired you to make us the first newspaper publisher to go on the Web?
DALLAS: Haha! Well, I don't know if you know this, but I'm only a person because the Northston Tribune published a paper about my science project back when I was a young boy. After that, some investors actually bought my design and ever since I've been a innovator and a thinker! Right after I graduated High School, I started a business selling little doohickeys and doodads. It was NOTHING like what I wanted to actually do, but everyone's gotta start somewhere, right?
